As an in-house copywriter at The Walt Disney Company, she specializes in arts, entertainment, branding, marketing and making dreams come true! As a blogger and journalist, Shannon writes about hustling jobs, dreams, artistic adventures, music, travel and anything else she can find time to get herself into.
As a published writer, Shannon has contributed to a variety of print and online publications including Nylon, Fader Magazine, Venus Zine, LA Record, LA Alternative and GoGoParis.com, among others. She began her personal blog HUSTLE UP in 2009 after quitting a short stint as a high-pressure timeshare salesperson. HUSTLE UP chronicles Shannon’s personal career-related stories and now features close to 100 “Hustle Files” profiling various creative types and everyday hustlers.
Shannon is fluent in Spanish, conversational in French, and has years of experience traveling and working in Latin America, Europe, Asia and Africa. She holds a master’s degree in International and Public Policy from UCLA, as well as a bachelor’s degree in Biological & Environmental Sciences from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She has written stories about everything from Los Angeles school teachers that moonlight as musicians to snake charmers that hustled her in Morocco.
