Somewhere Over the Rock Rainbow

Wow! I think I deserve a “I Survived Primavera Sound 2011 T-Shirt”. What fun! From Thursday through Sunday, I got a total immersion in the wacky-wild music scene known as the Primavera Sound festival in Barcelona, Spain. Fully hooked-up with VIP wristbands, we cruised it hard… even got a gig as dancers dressed in Wizard of Oz costumes on stage with The Flaming Lips! It was one of those weekends where I felt swept away in a tornado, but also very much at home. Here’s a quick photo-journal of my journey down the rock ‘n roll road…

Primavera posters!

Stairs leading down to the Pitchfork stage above the Port del Forum.

Randy & Wayne Coyne of Flaming Lips. Trading numbers, making plans.

Getting our hip-hop on to Big Boi. “So fresh & so clean!”

Reporting for dancer duty!

Dorothy & the Scarecrow ready to shake it on stage for The Flaming Lips confetti dance party! I have to find more photos and video of this online! So ridiculously fun!

Roberto & Sue from Sub Pop celebrating with a cupcake. Happy Birthday, Sue!

Counting all the No Age shirts! We totally lost count.

Randy & Robin from Fleet Foxes.
Front row for John Cale’s performance of Paris 1919 with the local Spanish orchestra.

Ran over to catch Warpaint’s set. So rad to see my LA girls rock it. Girls rule!

Sean from Pissed Jeans on drums. Radical.

And last but not least, my favorite undercover spotting of a No Age t-shirt. So funny!
Thanks to all who made this weekend totally rule. Gracias a todos!
Rock ‘n roll forever!
